This year’s training conference will be held at the Margaritaville Resort in South Lake Tahoe, 4130 South Lake Tahoe Blvd., South Lake Tahoe, CA.

The conference will begin Monday, September 28^th at 8:30am and conclude at noon on September 30th. The conference registration includes your dues for 2027 as well as hosted one-hour happy hour and plated dinner on Tuesday evening. (Please let us know of any dietary restrictions and we will do our best to accommodate you.)

The training program has been finalized and the schedule includes:

• SB 2 Disqualifications and background issues
• Recent Trends in Psychological Screening of Public Safety Officers
• The use of Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) in background investigations
• POST guidelines on the use of artificial intelligence (AI)
• Views on Backgrounds from Multiple Perspectives
• Wellness and resiliency Strategies for background investigators

Registration for the conference is now open on the website. The cost of the conference is the same as last year, $375 which includes the dinner and your 2027 membership dues.  We have eliminated the late registration penalty so the conference cost will be $375 up to the day of the conference.  For those who registered after August 15, 2026, you will be receiving a refund.

The hotel is currently taking reservations for conference attendees.  They have reserved a block of rooms for our group which will be released on September 9, 2026.
