This year’s training conference will be held at the Margaritaville Resort in South Lake Tahoe, 4130 South Lake Tahoe Blvd., South Lake Tahoe, CA.

The conference will begin Monday, September 28^th at 8:30am and conclude at noon on September 30th. The conference registration includes your dues for 2027 as well as hosted one-hour happy hour and plated dinner on Tuesday evening. (Please let us know of any dietary restrictions and we will do our best to accommodate you.)

The CALEBI Board is working to put together an informative training program.  The final schedule will be released once we receive confirmation from the presenters. The current schedule includes:

• POST Update and input from the consultants
• SB 2 Disqualifications and background issues
• Wellness and resiliency Strategies for background investigators
• Other topics TBD

If there is a topic you would like to see presented, please send us an email with the topic for review.  We are interested in case studies about “unusual” backgrounds you may have encountered or other ideas and resources you have used in your investigations.  If you have such a case or investigative idea, please submit it to the board.

Registration for the conference is now open on the website. The cost of the conference is the same as last year, $375 which includes the dinner and your 2025 membership dues.  (After August 15, 2026, registration will be $425)
